Abstract: On November 19, 1990, Employee #1, age 19, was using a CTP 10 in. circular saw, model F255, to cut pieces for aluminum window frames. He was wearing cotton gloves to protect his hands. As he pushed the aluminum stock to the table stop, his right hand passed under the elevated rotating saw blade. The guard covered both sides of the blade as required, but his glove made contact with the blade teeth, causing lacerations to his ring and middle fingers. Employee #1 was taken to St. Rose Hospital, where he underwent surgery to repair a tendon in his middle finger. He was released from the hospital on November 21, 1990.
