Abstract: At 2:17 p.m. on October 6, 2023, an employee working as a technician for a telecommunications company was repairing an underground fiber optic line. At 1:23 p.m. the employee arrived onsite and was working alone on a road near a bike path. Sometime between 1:23 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., the employee was struck by a falling dead tree. The tree had struck both the employee and his vehicle. An unknown person called 911 and the County Sheriff responded to incident. The Sheriff notified a coworker (employee's supervisor) at 3:00 p.m. The employee had died at the scene of a concussion and contusions to his body and head.
