Abstract: At 3:30 p.m. on January 20, 2022, an employee who worked as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for a Volunteer Fire Department died from COVID-19. The employee had recently transported a patient with COVID-19 to a local hospital. The employee contracted COVID-19 while performing his duties according to his employer. The employer did not have an adequate Respiratory Protection Program in place.
