Abstract: At 1:15 a.m. on March 14, 2021, an employee removed a guardrail from an elevated work platform in order to close an exterior airplane door. The employee did not properly attach his harness to the retractable lanyard connected to the overhead anchor point. The employee fell approximately 15 to 18 feet to the concrete tarmac and was killed.
