Abstract: At 6:45 a.m. on August 28, 2017, Employee #1 was using a piece of old machinery that stacks cement pavers onto a pallet. As the machine was stacking the pavers, a few pieces were not lined up. The employee reached in to straighten out the misaligned pavers and his hand became caught in the moving machinery. His right thumb was caught in the chain drive, receiving sever lacerations and a possibly avulsion. Employee #1 was rushed to the emergency room to receive reconstructive surgery. The thumb was reattached and he was released from the hospital on the same day.
