Three employees with COVID-19 infection are hospitalized, o

On August 28, 2020, 10 employees who worked as Correctional Officers for a State Prison were reported infected with COVID-19. Employee #1 died due to his illness. Employees #2, #3 and #4 were hospitalized but recovered. Employees #5, #6, #7, #8, #9 and #10 tested positive for COVID-19 but did not required hospitalization. Each employee worked up to the day each begain to feel ill or were hospitalized. All of the employees worked either in the Command Center or at regular posts. By September 2020, the facility had had a total of 197 residents test positive. All of the employees came into close contact (within 6 feet of) individuals whoe had tested positive for COVID-19. At least 6 employees had worked in the Command Center around the same times or within 14 days of testing positive. Information regarding engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls for COVID-19 are not included in the narrative.
