Employee is killed from dehydration and hyperthermia

At 11:00 p.m. on June 11, 2020, an employee, a border patrol agent and his coworker, a journeyman border patrol agent, were performing sign-cutting duties on foot. At some point, the employee and his coworker began experiencing cramps and determined it was best to separate; eventually losing contact with each other by radio. After separating, the coworker arrived to where their vehicle was and started driving back to find the employee. The employee was found laying on his back unresponsive. The employee was killed as a result of dehydration/hyperthermia in above normal temperatures, and related environmental factors.
