Employee amputates thumbnail in peeler roller

At 4:15 p.m. on January 21, 2020, an employee was peeling skin off of the necks of chickens coming down conveyor belt. The employee was working on gizzard table when she reached into the rollers on the table using a pincer grip and her thumbnail touched peeler roller. The employee suffered an amputation of the tip of her right thumb. The employee was treated at a local emergency room and released.
