Employee amputates two fingers and fractures several others

At 4:30 p.m. on October 22, 2018, an employee was feeding boards into Coastal Machinery Company Planer (Model A2-615-8-90-95) when a board became jammed. The employee tried to clear the jam and reached into the planer with his right hand and was caught by the machine. The employee amputated his ring finger to the first knuckle and his middle finger down to the second knuckle. The employee also cut a tendon and fractured several fingers. The employee was hospitalized.
