Employee amputates fingertip in packaging machine

At 6:00 a.m. on July 21, 2017, an employee was working for a poultry processor. He was operating a packaging machin and was feeding packaging film through a roller. This action might have been part of a servicing or maintenance procedure, but the narrative did not say one way or the other. A metal plate that sealed the package came up and crushed the tip of the employee's finger. He sustained the amputation of the fingertip. The narrative did not say whether he was hospitalized or not.
