Employee is killed by heat stroke

At 2:00 p.m. on September 19, 2013, an employee was working alone in a remote location repairing and grading a dirt road after flash flood. The grader had a flat tire and the employee was found 4.7 miles from grader and 1 mile from parked vehicle. The coroner listed the cause of death as: heat related disorder/hyperthermia/heat stroke. The employee was exposed to air temperatures of 104 F, humidity of 4% and an additional 15 F for gradient heat from direct sun.
