Employee falls without fall protection, while erecting scaff

At 2:30 p.m. on September 22, 2011, a temporary untrained laborer was erecting scaffolding in the school auditorium without wearing fall protection. When he was placing planking for the top deck at a height of 27 feet 2 inches, a dry rotted plank snapped, sending him to the concrete below. The employee fell and hit the crossbraces of the scaffolding causing more injuries during the fall. The employee sustained a fractured skiull, brain damage, puntured heart, pelvis and lungs, broken hip and leg. He was killed.
