Employee Amputates Finger Between Weight and Frame

At about 9:00 a.m. on August 27, 2013, Employee #1, with Facilities Logistics, Inc., was stabilizing a compression testing machine, which was being lifted by a forklift. Employee #1 placed his left hand on the top of the frame of the machine, while the top compression weight was in an elevated position, and the machine was leaning toward him. When he pushed the machine to an upright position, the compression weight descended and smashed his fingers against the machine's frame.
