Employee Is Seriously Injured in Fall from Trailer

At approximately 6:25 a.m. on October 24, 2011 Employee #1 of Azevedo Feed, Inc., fell from a trailer loaded with bales of hay. Employee #1 and Employee #2 were both finished loading hay bales onto flatbed trailers, and Employee # 1 was inspecting the load on the rear trailer, when they tripped on a rope used to tie down the load, and fell approximately 14 feet, onto the gravel surface to one side of the trailer. Employee # 1 was injured after striking the ground, and suffered a right leg femur fracture, a concussion, and cuts and abrasions to his face.
