Employee Is Struck in the Head by Falling Object

On July 16, 2010, Employee #1, a grocery clerk, was cleaning a salad bar area. She lifted a tempered glass sneeze guard, weighing approximately 2 to 3 pounds, to its overhead position. Due to a defective piston, the glass fell and struck her in the head. She was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released. Two days later, she was hospitalized with a head trauma.
