Employee Is Killed When Struck by Falling Tree Limb

A tree limb, approximately 5.8 meters long, was broken in a hurricane. One end of the limb was on the ground, and the other end was still attached to the tree. Two employees were trimming branches from the limb so that they could remove it. While they were trimming the branches, the limb separated from the tree, fell, and struck an electrical utility worker who had walked into the work area. The electric utility worker died of injuries sustained in the accident.
