Employee Is Killed In Fall From Roof

At approximately 7:07 a.m. on November 21, 2003, Employee #1, an electrician, and a coworker were placing Christmas lights. Employee #1 slipped off the roof and was killed when he fell approximately 24 ft to the surface below. The coworker stated that the roof surface was wet, and Employee #1 was not wearing a body harness, nor was any other means of fall protection in place at the time of the accident. The coworker also stated that Employee #1 went up to the peak of the roof to pull a string across the roof. The coworker's back was turned, but he heard a noise and turned around to see Employee #1 sliding off the roof. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at the scene by medical staff.
