Employee's Finger Is Amputated in Point of Bobcat Nip

At approximately 2:38 pm, on September 27, 2004, Employee #1 and a coworker were changing the front end attachment on a Bobcat tractor. Employee #1 was standing by the bucket preparing to set the locking levers as the coworker, in the driver's seat, aligned the operating arm with the socket on the bucket. Employee #1 leaned over the bucket to set one of the levers, and placed his finger in a nip point as the arm and bucket closed together. Employee #1 was hospitalized with an amputated finger.
