Event: 07/13/1999
Employee is injured by a falling gate

At 1 p.m., on July 13, 1999, Employee #1, was a passenger of a flatbed truck, which pulled up to the entrance of a movie studio jobsite. He walked to the entrance of a sliding double gate made of wrought iron 7 feet tall, 16 feet across. Employee #1 rolled the sliding double gate about 6 inches, and suddenly, the fell on him. Seven fellow employees lifted the 700 lbs. fallen gate off Employee #1. Paramedics were called to the scene to provide medical attention to Employee #1. The employee was transported to County USC Hospital, where he was hospitalized with lacerations to his face and head, and a punctured lung.
