Employee's right finger amputated

On March 2, 2001, an assistant cook was operating a power food processing machine (grinder) to prepare tamales. While dropping loose corn kernels into the point of operation to be ground, her fingers and thumb became entangled in the horizontal screw worm. She and the machine were transported by the fire department paramedics to the hospital where she was hospitalized for 10-days for her injuries which resulted in the complete amputation of two right fingers and a thumb.
