Employee Smashes Finger on Trailer Hitch

On September 9, 2008, Employee # 1, a 30-year-old male construction laborer, with Gary D Davis Inc, was hitching a trailer to a company vehicle. The pivot wheel came off as Employee #1 moved the trailer to the ball on the company vehicle. Employee #1 reached down to pick up the pivot wheel. Employee #1's right middle finger was caught between the vehicle bumper and the hitch of the trailer. Employee #1's right middle finger tip was crushed and had to be amputated.
