Employee burned by flash fire

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on August 25, 1992, Employee #1, of Gonzales Printing Corp., was spraying lacquer on a cabinet in close proximity to an open burning lamp (300W floodlight) when a flash fire caused serious burns to his both arms. He was taken by ambulance to San Bernardino County Burn Center for treatment. A serious citation of T8CCR 1534(b) was issued to his employer. Employee #1 was an experienced worker and attended tailgate safety meetings on a regular basis. He was the foreman painter on the job and had worked for this employer since July 9, 1991.
