Employee Injured When Struck by Press Handle

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on February 22, 2001, Employee #1 was refilling a skid of glossy printing paper into the feeder of the Kimori print press. Employee #1 used a pallet jack to carry the skid of paper, which was being loaded onto the feeder. As he pushed the pallet jack forward over the ram of the feeder, the paper began to slide forward, causing the pallet to go in the reverse direction. Employee #1 was struck by the handle in his lower abdomen. He sustained severe pain to his groin. He was transported to County General Hospital where he was hospitalized for his injury.
