Employee's fingers injured by shaper blade

At approximately 3:00 p.m. on October 14, 1992, Employee #1, of Bardale's Fine Furniture, was operating an unguarded Lobo shaper to make a piece of cabinet frame. His hand slipped and struck the three running edges of the shaper blade. Employee #1 suffered the amputation of his right ring finger and the laceration of his middle and index fingers. He was taken by Los Angeles City Fire Department to USC Medical Center and was hospitalized. Citations were issued and the employer was spoken to about necessary corrections.
