Investigation Summary
At approximately 12:00 noon on May 25, 1992, Employee #1, of Arrow Fencing in Philo, CA, was installing T-stake metal posts for a fence using a 25 lb post pounder. While driving a post into the ground, Employee #1 raised the pounder too high and it came off the post, flipping backward over his head. At the same time he brought it down and hit himself in the head and fractured his C-3 vertebra. The employer failed to report the accident to OSHA within 24 hr, a violation of T8CCR 342(a).
