This is the third Onward Energy site included in OSHA Voluntary Protection Program

Participant:
Onward Energy, SWG Arapahoe LLC
Address:
2601 S. Platte River Drive
Denver, CO 80223

Description: The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has approved Onward Energy, SWG Arapahoe LLC for participation in the OSHA site-based Voluntary Protection Program at the Star level. This is the third Onward Energy site to achieve OSHA VPP and the second in OSHA’s Denver Region.

Background: The VPP is the highest level of OSHA recognition of employers and workers who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintained injury and illness rates below the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ industry averages. In the VPP, company management, site employees and OSHA work cooperatively and proactively to prevent fatalities, injuries and illnesses through a system focused on hazard prevention and control, worksite analysis, training, management commitment and worker involvement.

To participate, employers must apply to OSHA for consideration, and undergo a rigorous on-site evaluation by a team of safety and health professionals. Learn more about the VPP.

Duration: Initially approved June 14, 2022, Onward Energy, SWG Arapahoe LLC has VPP certification for three years.

“Employee engagement is a fundamental requirement of the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program, and the Onward Energy employee safety and health training program and plant safety expert program are excellent examples of the value of employee involvement, empowerment, and ownership. We are happy to recognize another Onward Energy site with a VPP Star,” said OSHA Regional Administrator Jennifer Rous in Denver.
