As used in this part:

1987.101(a)
Assistant Secretary means the Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health or the person or persons to whom he or she delegates authority under FSMA.
1987.101(b)
Business days means days other than Saturdays, Sundays, and Federal holidays.
1987.101(c)
Complainant means the employee who filed a complaint under FSMA or on whose behalf a complaint was filed.
1987.101(d)
Covered entity means an entity engaged in the manufacture, processing, packing, transporting, distribution, reception, holding, or importation of food.
1987.101(e)
Employee means an individual presently or formerly working for a covered entity, an individual applying to work for a covered entity, or an individual whose employment could be affected by a covered entity.
1987.101(f)
FD&C means the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, 21 U.S.C. 301 et seq., which is chapter 9 of title 21.
1987.101(g)
FDA means the Food and Drug Administration of the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
1987.101(h)
Food means articles used for food or drink for man or other animals, chewing gum, and articles used for components of any such article.
1987.101(i)
FSMA means section 402 of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, Public Law 111–353, 124 Stat. 3885 (Jan. 4, 2011) (codified at 21 U.S.C. 399d).
1987.101(j)
OSHA means the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the United States Department of Labor.
1987.101(k)
Person includes an individual, partnership, corporation, and association.
1987.101(l)
Respondent means the employer named in the complaint who is alleged to have violated the FSMA.
1987.101(m)
Secretary means the Secretary of Labor or person to whom authority under the FSMA has been delegated.
1987.101(n)
Any future statutory amendments that affect the definition of a term or terms listed in this section will apply in lieu of the definition stated herein.
