Abstract:
This notice sets forth final DOL regulations which implement the
Freedom of Information Reform Act of 1986. The Act requires each
agency to promulgate regulations specifying the schedule of fees
applicable to the processing of requests,and to establish guidelines
for determining when such fees should be waived or reduced. These
DOL regulations are intended to simplify and clarify the
Department's procedures for access to records under FOIA. This
document also adds a provision for the assessment of mailing costs.
