Freedom 250

Celebrating America's Workers
As we celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary, we honor America's workers and those dedicated to protecting their safety and health. The American worker has always been the backbone of our nation.

They are innovators, visionaries, and everyday people, who cultivate our land, build our infrastructure, care for those in need, cure diseases, and maintain our everyday necessities even in the most challenging times. Our nation's workers are the driving force that is the horsepower of America.

About OSHA
OSHA's mission is to assure safe and healthful working conditions by setting and enforcing standards, enforcing whistleblower laws, and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance. We are committed to keeping workers safe by taking a balanced approach that values collaboration, partnerships and compliance assistance alongside traditional enforcement.

OSHA Cares
OSHA cares that all workers go home safe and healthy every day. We are helping businesses meet federal workplace safety standards, while also building strong safety and health programs.

Every workplace is different, with its own resources and unique needs. At OSHA, we want to meet employers wherever they are on their safety journey, whether they are well-established or just starting out.

We want businesses to feel comfortable when approaching the agency and understand the benefits of working with us. To do that, we are strengthening customer service, expanding compliance assistance, and making sure that every interaction with OSHA is valuable.

Safety Champions
We also know that we can't accomplish our goals alone. With our Safety Champions Program, we are working with businesses to help them develop, grow, and implement their safety and health programs. And we are encouraging businesses to take proactive steps for continuous improvement to prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and fatalities.

"By providing employers with these resources, we are putting American workers first and keeping them healthy and safe on the job."
.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer

Redefining OSHA
OSHA is often defined as an enforcement agency only. The truth is, OSHA is much more than that. We want to change that perception by showing that we want to collaborate and bring everyone together.

We will never shy away from our enforcement responsibilities, but we also want to emphasize training and education, free compliance assistance, and ensuring access to clear and practical guidance.

Training and Compliance Assistance
For more than 50 years, OSHA has partnered with small and medium-sized businesses to prevent injuries through our free on-site consultation program.

Our on-site consultants offer:
- ☑ Free assistance from safety and health experts
- ☑ Practical solutions to safety and health issues
- ☑ Help with building and improving safety and health programs
- ☑ Training and education

We value working closely with businesses, listening to our stakeholders, building greater collaboration, and expanding compliance assistance. We believe that we are stronger when we work together to ensure that all workers go home safe and healthy every day.
