OSHA and the SCPBC renewed this alliance with a continued emphasis on reducing and preventing employee exposure to workplace hazards in the construction and general industries, by developing effective safety and health tools (i.e., fleet safety programs, workzone safety, as well as safety and health management systems).

In addition to these formal meetings, the Alliance coordinators from both groups maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance's progress and results.
The following table summarizes the Alliance's activities in support of the goals in the Alliance agreement.
Raising Awareness of OSHA’s Rulemaking and Enforcement Initiatives: The Participants intend to work together to achieve the following goal related to raising awareness of OSHA's rulemaking and enforcement initiatives:
- Convene or participate in forums, round table discussions or stakeholder meetings on fleet safety management issues to help forge innovative solutions in the workplace or to provide input on safety and health issues.

Training and Education: The Participants intend to work together to achieve the following training and education goal:
- To develop effective training and education programs for employees and employers in the construction and general industries regarding fleet safety programs, work zone safety, as well as safety and health management systems, and to communicate such information to constituent employers and workers.
- To deliver or arrange for the delivery of fleet safety, work zone safety and other training courses.

Outreach and Communication: The Participants intend to work together to achieve the following outreach and communication goals:

Speech/Presentation During this period, the OSHA CAS conducted two presentations, which included an OSHA update and OSHA's recordkeeping guidelines for two Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) courses. Small Business
Dissemination During this period, the Alliance group supported the OSHA Falls and Heat Illness Prevention Stand-downs by disseminating outreach material. Construction/Fall Prevention/heat Illness Prevention/ Workers/Small Business
Dissemination During this period, the Alliance group supported the OSHA Region IV Landscaping Safety Stand-down. The group promoted the event and distributed outreach materials. Heat Illness Prevention and Small Business
Upcoming Milestones for 2017 - 2018
- The Alliance group will continue to promote occupational safety and health by conducting outreach to employers and workers in Palm Beach, St. Lucie and Indian River counties.
- The Alliance group will continue to promote safety and health management systems (SHMS) by expand the number of employers working with SCPBC.
- The Alliance group will continue to provide effective safety and health training for workers, by increasing the number of workers that receive training on the safe operation of forklifts, lockout/tagout, silica as well as other topics.
- The Alliance group will continue to work with the other OSHA area offices in Florida, as well as the safety councils throughout the state of Florida in an effort to promote occupational safety and health.
