ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration signed two strategic partnerships with MEJA Construction Inc. to promote safety and health practices during the building of the Henry County school construction project in Stockbridge and the Riverdale Early Learning Center project in Riverdale.

Partnerships to emphasize preventing worker injuries, exposure to hazards
ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration signed two strategic partnerships with MEJA Construction Inc. to promote safety and health practices during the building of the Henry County school construction project in Stockbridge and the Riverdale Early Learning Center project in Riverdale.
The partnership seeks to prevent worker injuries and reduce exposure to hazards using a contractor-government collaborative approach. The initiative will assist contractors in developing and implementing safety and health management systems; training employees, employers, and supervisors; conducting periodic self-inspections; and monitoring chemicals in areas where workers may be exposed to hazards. The Georgia Tech Institute of Technology On-site Safety and Health Consultation will support the partnership as a stakeholder and assist small employers engaged as subcontractors on the jobsite.
The Henry County school construction project includes the demolition of the existing Stockbridge Elementary gymnasium and Patrick Henry High School. The demolition will be followed by the construction of a 9,804-square-foot gymnasium for the elementary school, as well as the construction of the 171,855-square-foot Henry County STEM High School.
The Riverdale Early Learning Center construction project consists of the construction of a 90,000-square-foot structure that will include a full-service kitchen, cafeteria, gymnasium, media center, art and music rooms, 24 classrooms, and collaboration spaces.
