U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has issued corrections to the agency's Hazard Communication Standard (HCS).
On May 20, 2024, OSHA issued a final rule updating the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS), which took effect on July 19, 2024. On October 9, 2024, the agency issued a corrections notice and technical amendment to correct errors in that final rule. On January 8, 2026, the agency issued a second corrections notice.
OSHA's October 9, 2024 notice corrected several errors in the regulatory text and appendices to the HCS which pertain to the classification of hazardous chemicals and information presented on labels and Safety Data Sheets. OSHA then continued its review of the regulatory text and issued another correction document on January 8, 2026 to further correct minor errors and to make technical amendments that do not affect or change any existing rights or obligations.
