    3. Overview:
      The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Atlanta Regional Office and the OSHA Training Institute Education Centers (OTIECs) in Region IV recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces. The OTIEC Alliance is focused on providing students and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to prevalent health and safety hazards in the general and construction industries.

    During this period, the Alliance group conducted implementation team meetings virtually. The Alliance group also frequently communicated and coordinated via email.

    • April 23, 2025 - Preparation for the Fall Prevention Webinar
    • November through December 2025 – The Alliance Renewal process was initiated to reflect OSHA’s Regional Realignment. OSHA’s Atlanta Region includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

    Dissemination: Alliance Program participant shared information on OSHA-developed or OSHA Alliance Program-developed tools and resources, OSHA standards/rulemakings, enforcement, or outreach campaigns.

    Dissemination During this period: 11/2024 thru 11/2025 The Volunteer State Community College (VSCC) - OTIEC distributed a monthly newsletter to stakeholders, including members of the Middle Tennessee - FFSHC. Areas of emphasis include upcoming training events, OSHA success stories, OSHA recruitment efforts, as well as regional and national emphasis programs.     Dissemination/ Information Session November/ December 2025 During this period, the Atlanta Region members of the OTIEC Alliance group coordinated to renew the Alliance. The states included in this group are Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The removing states in the former OSHA Region IV are now members of OSHA’s Birmingham Region.     On May 5 (English) and May 6 (Spanish), 2025, the University of South Florida – OTIEC conducted the OSHA 7405 course focused on Fall Hazard Awareness for the Construction Industry.

    North Carolina State University (NCSU) - OTIEC
    On May 5, 2025, North Carolina State University – OTIEC. Led by Lance McClure, this session will cover essential topics like lanyards, personal fall arrest systems (PFAS), anchor points, and more.

    Training/Meeting May 7, 2025 Virtual Meeting During this period, both the NC Consultation Program and the Georgia Tech – OTIEC participated in the OSHA Atlanta Region – Fall Prevention Webinar on May 7, 2025. This event was promoted by the councils, and it supported OSHA’s National Fall prevention Stand-Down.     During this period, on June 9, 2025, the North Carolina State University – OTIEC conducted presentations focused on heat illness prevention. The session was led by Kristi Spear, and during the event the following topics were covered: OSHA’s guidelines and best practices for safeguarding workers from heat-related illnesses.
