    3. Overview:

      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (SLCC/NECA), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 5th and tenth districts, and the Southeastern Line Constructors Apprenticeship and Training (SELCAT) work cooperatively to provide workers and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to electrical transmission and distribution equipment hazards.

  2. Implementation Team Members and Meetings:

    Representatives from OSHA, SLCC/NECA, IBEW, and SELCAT communicated regarding the Alliance during the following periods:

    • August 15, 2024
    • February 27, 2025

    Alliance meetings were conducted in-person and by telephone. The Alliance coordinators from each group maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance's progress and results. Please note the OSHA Alliance members were not available for the February meeting.

  3. Results of Alliance Activities in Support of Agreement Goals

    Dissemination: Alliance Program participants shared information on OSHA-developed or OSHA Alliance Program-developed tools and resources, OSHA standards/rulemakings, enforcement, or outreach campaigns.

Dissemination August 9, 2024 During this period, the Alliance group promoted OSHA’s Safe + Sound Campaign, including OSHA’s Atlanta Region and the Georgia Tech Onsite Consultation Program webinar. The Safe + Sound webinar was focused on safety as a core value, and it featured a Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) overview. The webinar was scheduled for August 14, 2024. During this period SLCC, IBEW, and SELCAT Alliance Meeting SELCAT Trainer During this period, SELCAT continued its efforts to provide workers with effective training and education programs focusing on electrical utility industry issues, as well as safety and health. Course topics included the following:

2) First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

3) Pole Top and Bucket Truck Rescue

4) Transformer Safety Courses 1 & 2
