As of April 1, 2019, Maritime student course completion cards do not expire. Training completed before this date remains valid. Cardholders are not required to obtain a replacement. If a replacement card is desired, the Maritime class must have been completed within the past five years. To request a replacement card, please contact the original training provider.

The 7.5-hour and 15-hour Disaster Site Worker Outreach Training Program is a training program for Disaster Site Workers who provide skilled support services, (e.g. utility, demolition, debris removal, or heavy equipment operation) or site clean-up services in response to natural and man-made disasters. Specifically, it is recognized that all workers at disaster sites need to be aware of the differences between disaster sites and regular construction or demolition worksites and be able to inspect, don, and doff air-purifying respirators. Also, the program will make management and labor aware that pre-incident training is essential for ensuring disaster site worker safety and health.

To obtain a replacement card or have one issued (trainers have 90 days after course completion to issue cards), please reach out to the trainer who conducted your class, or if you completed training online, contact the online provider. OSHA does not keep records of Outreach training classes conducted by authorized trainers. It is the responsibility of the Outreach trainer/online provider to maintain class records and issue/replace completion cards for students. You can find contact information for your trainer/provider at Find a Trainer | Occupational Safety and Health Administration if you do not have it already. Outreach trainers and online providers maintain all student records for five years. Completion of training must be verified using the class records; therefore, if the training was completed over five years ago or you do not recall who your trainer/online provider was, you will have to retake the class to receive a student course completion card.

As part of its continuing effort to improve the Outreach Training Program, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) eliminated the authorized trainer's 90-day grace period. Section III.B. of the Outreach Training Program Requirements (effective October 1, 2024), Update Requirement states, "If a trainer's authorization has expired, the trainer will be unable to conduct Outreach training and receive student course completion cards. Extensions to the trainer's expiration date will not be granted." However, Section III.C., Trainer Update Exemption for Overseas Military Service, remains in effect.

Eliminating the grace period reduces confusion regarding trainer authorization status and encourages trainers to maintain their trainer authorization(s). OSHA urges authorized trainers to schedule registration, attendance, and completion of the relevant Trainer Update course well before their trainer authorization expiration date. Authorized trainers who let their authorization lapse will be ineligible to attend a Trainer Update course and are required to meet all prerequisite requirements to attend the relevant Trainer course, including having completed the applicable OSHA Standards course(s) within seven calendar years of attendance at the Trainer course.
