    TEXT VERSION OF SLIDE:

    Type: Picture Slide
Content: Includes photo of payloader moving quartz sand.

Speaker Notes: Quartz sand is the major ingredient in the manufacture of glass. Exposure to silica dust can occur when the sand is being loaded and unloaded from boxcars and storage areas. Exposure may also occur during the actual manufacturing process, especially during heating when air currents caused by thermal drafts circulate the silica dust throughout the workplace.
