State Occupational Safety and Health Programs
Emergency Preparedness/Homeland Security Initiatives and Guidance Materials

Many of the OSHA-approved state plans have implemented or assisted in the development of emergency preparedness and/or homeland security related initiatives and guidance materials. These States cover most private sector workers and are also required to extend their coverage to public sector (state and local government ) workers in the state. State plans have standards which are identical to or "at least as effective as" Federal OSHA standards.
