Colorado ALLIANCE ANNUAL REPORT July 2, 2007 Alliance Background The alliance was signed on May 18, 2006 Overview The purpose of the alliance is to provide ABC members and others in the construction industry, including non-English or limited English speaking employees, with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them protect health and safety by addressing issues such as construction related hazard recognition and hazard prevention. Implementation Team Members Megan Meagher – OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist; Tammy Whitaker - ABC Education Director; David Myers – ABC Western Slope President and CEO Contributors Herb Gibson – OSHA Area Director Raleigh Sorenson – Safety Director, FCI Constructors; ABC Safety Committee Chair Evaluation Period 1 year (May 18, 2006 – May 17, 2007) Implementation Team Meetings 9/14/06 – in person meeting at ABC offices in Grand Junction, CO 1/19/07 – in person meeting at ABC offices in Grand Junction, CO 5/18/07 – in person meeting at ABC offices in Grand Junction, CO Events and Products Training and Education
Upcoming Milestones Begin to offer 10 hour classes in Spanish at ABC offices in fall 2007 OSHA to present special topic classes at ABC (topics to be selected based on needs/interest of members) Encourage and provide support for at least 1 ABC member company to complete and submit a VPP application Support ABC efforts and participate in, as possible, the National Careers in Construction Week (3rd week of October 2007) Participate in OSHA 10 hours whenever possible by providing "OSHA" hour Collaborate on and support efforts for western Colorado "school to career" programs focusing on construction OSHA will contribute articles to western Colorado ABC newsletter as appropriate Page last updated: 02/26/2010 |
