Overview

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Construction Careers Center (CCC) recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful workplaces. OSHA and the CCC hereby form an Alliance to provide CCC students, faculty and others in the construction industry with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them to increase employees’ awareness of safety and health issues particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to electrical, fall, struck-by, and crushed-by hazards.

OSHA and the CCC will work together to achieve the following training and education goal:
  • Develop training and education programs to prevent exposure to electrical, fall, struck by, and crushed-by hazards that will be presented at CCC and other locations.
II. Implementation Team Meetings

During the course of this evaluation period, Mike Minicky discussed informally (through e-mail, telephone, and in-person) the safety and health training needs of the students at the Construction Careers Center.

III. Events and Products

Training and Education

Events:
  • January 22-February 2: Representatives of the St. Louis Area Office presented the OSHA 10-hour course for Construction to students at the CCC. Course completion cards were issued to 28 students.
IV. Upcoming Milestones

The St. Louis Area Office will continue to support the training efforts and information needs of the Construction Careers Center as requested.
