    Alliance Overview.

    OSHA and TXANS will work together to conduct training on safety and health at the TXANS annual conference, and to provide safety and health resource information to TXANS members through their publications and website.

    Meetings were held in March 2008 (in person) and December 2008 (by telephone.)

  3. Activities and Products

    Evaluation Period.

    Evaluation period is 3-8-08 to 3-8-09

    Alliance Activity.

    OSHA and TXANS work together to provide training to TXANS members on safety & health through speeches at conferences, articles submitted for publication in TXANS newsletter and website, and providing technical expertise on questions regarding OSHA's regulations.

    Alliance Products.

    OSHA presented at TXANS annual conference held on March 6, 2008. Other speeches planned at the regional statewide TXANS meetings were planned but did not take place as the conferences were postponed due to adverse economic conditions. The CAS responded to three requests for technical assistance.

    OSHA 501 General Industry course was attended by TXANS staff. TXANS plans to conduct 10 hour training sessions later this year.

    TXANS is currently preparing a manual to distribute as a part of the 10 General Industry program that includes sample safety programs, checklists and a review of each standard.

    TXANS published a series of articles in our monthly newsletter on OSHA General Industry standards.

    TXANS provides OSHA record keeping forms and instructions to employers on the TXANS website at www.txans.org

    TXANS provided press releases to newspapers to remind employers to post the OSHA 300A summary.

    TXANS has assisted employers with record keeping questions, which was supported by the local OSHA office.

    TXANS has added many safety related documents to the TXANS Member Center.
    TXANS has distributed OSHA/NIOSH information on Swine Flu to employers.

    TXANS has participated in a NIOSH initiative on injury prevention in wholesale retail trade sector.

  5. Upcoming Milestones

    OSHA will present at the annual TXANS conference held in Austin. OSHA will continue to provide technical assistance to the TXANS group though interpretations, and articles submitted to TXANS for inclusion in their publications and website. OSHA and TXANS plan to renew the alliance in 2010.
