Overview:
OSHA and ADSC formed an alliance to provide ADSC members and others in the
foundation drilling industry, including small businesses and non-English or
limited English speaking employees with information, guidance, and access to
training resources that will help them protect employees' health and safety.
Implementation Team Members:

Brad Allen, Roger Pool, VP Business Development, Texas Shafts;
OSHA Alliance Committee Chairman; Rick Marshall, Chairman, ADSC Safety
Committee;
Mike Talmont, OSHA Dallas Regional Office;
Christine Webb, OSHA Fort Worth Area Office
Evaluation Period: January 9, 2009 to January 8, 2010
Implementation Team Meetings:
4/15/2009-Meeting held with Roger Pool, VP Business Development, in the Fort
Worth Area Office to discuss the Alliance and training for contractors and OSHA
compliance officers.
8/27/2009-Meeting held with Mr. Tom Baehr and Mr. Brad Allen in the Houston
South Area Office to discuss the agenda for the training seminar in October.
1/22/2010-Meeting held with ADSC South Central Chapter at Houston North Area
Office to discuss training in Houston.
- Events and Products
October 30, 2009- Training seminar held at the D/FW Sheraton for contractors and
OSHA compliance officers on foundation drilling hazards and OSHA procedures.

Outreach and Communication
- The ADSC provided a packet of pamphlets outlining best practices to the
seminar attendees.
Promoting the National Dialogue on Workplace Safety and Health
- 2010-2011 ADSC Safety Committee Goals
- Continue active participation and involvement in ADSC/OSHA on a National
Level.
- Continue to pursue Regional and Local Alliances through ADSC Chapters
- North East Chapter and OSHA Region II
- Mid-Atlantic Chapter and OSHA Region III
- Ohio Valley/Midwest Chapters and OSHA Region V
- Continue to work collectively between OSHA Region VI and ADSC South
Central Chapter, OSHA IX & X and ADSC West Coast Chapter, and Rocky
Mountain Chapter and OSHA's Colorado Offices
- Results
The ADSC South Central Chapter hosted a training seminar on drilled shaft
installations and safety for OSHA compliance staff and contractors in
Dallas, TX on October 30, 2009. OSHA compliance officers were presented a
basic overview of the foundation drilling industry and associated safety
and health hazards.
