Project: Alabama Stuck-By Alliance
Signed April 16, 2003
Milestones Met in FY 2003:
- Signing Ceremony conducted in Montgomery, Al. A Proclamation was issued by the Governor for this
the alliance on this day. Local television coverage including PBS was at the proclamation and
signing.
- Alliance Training Committee meeting-developed training and schedule-invited ALDOT and Al Hwy
Patrol to participate. Eight (8) representatives attended training meeting. Locations for classes
were selected/recommended to Alliance members. Eight (8) locations throughout the State of Alabama
will be scheduled
- ALDOT joined the alliance and agreed to provide space for seven of the eight classes at their
facilities.
- The first two training sessions were accomplished with the first being in Birmingham and the
second in Montgomery, Al in September 2003.
Upcoming Milestones:
- Provide Awareness training throughout the State on "Struck-By Hazards" in construction.
- Utilize feedback and survey information from "Awareness Training" to focus next training efforts.
- Alliance members to provide feedback on ANSI/ISEA 107 standard revision.
- Develop and distribute to local school systems video on youth drivers in construction work zones.
