Overview

Develop training and education programs for occupational health nurses and human resource professionals regarding OSHA standards and key issues in workplace safety and health training including such topics as bloodborne pathogens, OSHA recordkeeping, emergency preparedness, MSDs and workplace violence prevention.

II. Implementation Team Meetings

Conference Calls: 8/8/2007, 2/11/2008 and 5/28/2008 to introduce alliance and PA OSHA CAS to PAAOHN Chapter Presidents in order to organize outreach to PAAOHN membership.

    OSHA Alliance Seminar 3/24/07 (40 attendees); Workplace Violence Seminar 5/16/07 (15 attendees); OSHA Update 10/2/07 for the 9th Annual NE Regional Occupational Safety and Health Conference (100 attendees); OSHA Alliance Seminar 5/18/08 (Common Injuries and Illnesses Impacting the Workplace, 30 attendees); 12/13/2007 45th Annual PAAOHN Conference (Young Worker: Protecting the Risk Taker, 50 attendees).

    OSHA Standards training delivered as Train-the-Trainer to PAAOHN Pittsburgh Chapter President by Pittsburgh OSHA CAS.

Upcoming Milestones

Lunch box talks to be scheduled throughout 2008-2009 by Erie CAS and PAAOHN for Erie area safety and health professionals; Allentown Area Director and Wilkes-Barre CAS will present OSHA Updates at separate PAAOHN conferences in Oct. 2008; periodic OSHA Updates for PAAOHN web site.
