  3. Events and Products

    Training and Education

    Events
    • Two major training/education events took place this past year. As you will notice from the meeting schedule above, a majority of our time had been spent preparing for our second Safety Expo event, which was held at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania on May 20, 2008. This years Expo covered such topics as, NFPA 70E (a more in-depth review), Event Analysis and Review (aka Accident Investigation II), Confined Spaces, Drug and Alcohol Testing, Respirators and Inhalation Matters, Workplace Safety Committee Operations, Hazard Awareness, Lockout/Tagout, Occupational Noise, Walking/Working Surfaces and Ladder Safety.

    • The second event took place on Nov. 20, 2008, at Northampton Community College, where we held a Construction Fall Protection Seminar for members of the LVALMC and many of the construction employer supervisors and foremen.

  5. Milestones

The milestone this past year, was the completion of our second Safety Expo event. Although this event was not as successful as our first Safety Expo (using the number of attendees as measurement) this event was another success, and the members of this Alliance have decided to conduct yet another free Safety Expo event to be held in May 2010. The members have committed to trying to hold this event every other year, as long as there is an interest and the Committee continues to grow in its membership. It is strongly recommended that this Alliance continue.
