    Overview

    The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Pittsburgh Area Office, the Pennsylvania OSHA Consultation Program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the Blair County Pennsylvania Chamber of Commerce aligned to provide Chamber members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources to promote safe and healthful working conditions at members worksites.

    Training and Education

    March 5, 2008 – The Area Director presented information on an OSHA Update.

    June 5, 2008 – A workshop was conducted that included presentations on OSHA’s inspection policies/procedures, frequently cited construction and general industry standards, recordkeeping standard overview, and an OSHA update.

  4. Results

    The training information provided was well received. The Chamber representatives and recipients of the training found the information to be valuable in assisting them in promoting and improving their safety and health efforts at their worksites.

    Note: The individuals trained represent companies with many employees and clients that would be directly affected by the safety and health information provided.

    The working relationship between the Alliance Signatories and the feedback on the Alliance has been very positive. The Safety Committee Chairperson has recently changed. The new Chairperson is committed to supporting and maintaining the Alliance.

    Upcoming Milestones

    The Alliance is looking into future opportunities in providing information for affected parties through internet/newsletter use, roundtable discussions and workshop training sessions. The Alliance signatories will continue to work to address the safety and health needs of the affected parties.
