The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the New Jersey Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (NJANPHA) recognize the value of establishing a collaborative relationship to foster safer and more healthful American workplaces. OSHA and NJANPHA therefore agree to form an Alliance to use their collective expertise to help foster a culture of prevention while sharing best practices and technical knowledge. NJANPHA represents nonprofit and governmental housing, assisted living, residential health care, nursing and continuing-care retirement facilities throughout New Jersey. NJANPHA currently serves over 140 member facilities, many of which are supported through faith-based, fraternal and government sponsorship. NJANPHA is a state affiliate of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). Since 1931 NJANPHA's mission has been to represent and promote the common interests of its members through ethical leadership, development of public policy, advocacy, education, and other services in order to enhance its members' ability to serve their constituency. As part of this mission, NJANPHA has demonstrated its commitment to providing occupational safety and health education and services through its on-going relationship with the New Jersey Department of Labor, OSHA Consultation Program.
