ANNUAL ALLIANCE REPORT

  1. Alliance Background

    Date Signed: 12-05-08

    Overview: The Alliance, which was originally signed in November 2006 and renewed in 2008, continues in its mission to provide NJ employers and their workers with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help to reduce the number of workplace accidents, injuries and fatalities caused by the use and abuse of alcohol, illegal drugs and prescription drugs.

  2. Implementation Team Meetings: Quarterly during calendar year 2009

    Face to face meetings took place either before or after the NNJFS&H Council meetings.

     
  3. Events and Products: Display tables set up at each Implementation Team meeting, Drug Free NJ Manuals and sign-ups were distributed and recorded at each meeting. New Council members were asked to join the Drug Free organization.

    Training and Education: The annual seminar took place in April at the NJ Turnpike Authority building. Over 70 organizations were represented. The seminar focused on information gleaned from a workplace study on the use and abuse of alcohol and drugs.

  4. Other Influences – The Partnership for a Drug Free NJ Implementation Team member was taken to a BUILD Safe NJ organization meeting by the OSHA Implementation Team member. After making a presentation, The Drug Free NJ rep was asked to join BUILD Safe and to promote drug and alcohol free workplaces at future meetings.

     
  5. Upcoming Milestones: Continue to attend NNJFS&H Council and BUILD Safe NJ meetings and renew the Alliance in December of 2010.
