PAT - Quartz Results Compared to Others

The PAT program was initiated to certify and facilitate performance in industrial hygiene analytical laboratories. When examining how the precision improved over time for quartz, one may wonder how this compares to other analytes in the Program. As shown, labs recently analyzing organic compounds such as trichloroethylene (TCE) and inorganic substances such as lead display good precision (less than 5% CV). Rounds 113 and 114 did not include TCE. Recent data for quartz and asbestos still indicate higher imprecision or more disagreement amongst labs.
