Potential Hazard
  • Possible employee exposure to machinery-related hazards during cutting, grinding, lapping, polishing, sanding, sorting, testing, and so forth.
Possible Solutions
  • Identify machinery hazards and provide adequate guarding.

  • Install appropriate emergency shut-offs and/or interlocks with the machinery.

  • Implement a lockout/tagout program [1910.147] to control the unexpected release of energy from machines during maintenance or service activities.
