Applying Your Knowledge
Good choice.  This bottom cut mirrors the top cut and creates a perfect V-notch.
Now choose the back cut that you would make.

This cut is NOT the best choice because it is higher than the notch corner and will result in barber chair damage.

Choose another cut.

This cut is NOT the best choice because it is too deep and doesn't leave enough wood for an adequate hinge.
